Our very own radio station keeps visitors up to date throughout the event. Burghley Horse Trials Radio (BHT Radio) boasts a fantastic range of presenters to ensure you have the inside track on all three disciplines alongside interviews and features from around the showground:
Bobby, based in Yorkshire and part of Team Hayler, has been competing at a high level since a young age, competing in Pony, Junior, Young Rider and Under 25s GP European. At senior level Bobby has been part of the Nations Cup team and is now competing in the Senior Grand Prix internationally.
John is an International Coach and former International Rider, having competed in both Eventing and Dressage disciplines. As a Coach, John trains many riders from grassroots to the highest levels and riders trained by him have won Championship medals at Junior European, Young Rider European and Senior Levels, including Olympic Games. John is well known as the trainer who worked with Jeanette Brakewell and her legendary horse Over To You, who won 8 Championship medals together for Team GB.
John’s association with Burghley started many years ago when he rode in the last Working Hunter classes held here, followed by riding in the first Young Event Horse classes. He has also ridden in the Dressage Demo in the Main Arena, judged the YEH Finals, and coached many riders competing in the 4-star competition. He describes Burghley as his favourite event in the world, and is delighted to be involved with BHT Radio.
John hopes you find his commentary honest, informative, occasionally entertaining and looks forward to seeing you all at Burghley.
