Tradestand winner is crowned

This year’s tradestand winner was crowned this afternoon at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. The Burnished Horse, which makes couture jewellery out of horse hair, was judged best of show by Jonathan Agnew (‘Aggers’).

“I thought it was a wonderful stand,” said Jonathan. “It’s a Lincolnshire-based company and what they are selling is totally unique – my wife is hooked!”

From bracelets made from your own horse’s hair to chunky, braided necklaces, pendants and stock pins, The Burnished Horse uses ancient weaving and braiding techniques to create unique pieces by hand. Horse hair is versatile, very strong and comes in an incredible range of shades and hues that can be made into extraordinary patterns and designs. The finished pieces can then be engraved to make them truly personal.
