On Sunday of the 2011 event, over 270 riders enjoyed the chance to ride along the famous four-star Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials cross country course as part of a sponsored ride. Thanks to the generosity of Dodson & Horrell, Equest and Equest Pramox and the many volunteers who helped on the day, 100% of the 12,000 raised has gone to a number of charities. Derby, Lincs & Rutland Air Ambulance, Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund, World Horse Welfare, Ace-Egypt and the Stamford XT - who support a number of local charities in and around Stamford; are listed amongst the beneficiaries.

Ian Scott, sponsored ride organizer said: We are delighted to have raised an amazing sum that will benefit so many causes. It was particularly special because the Burghley Horse Trials were celebrating their 50th Anniversary and many special memories and personal ambitions were achieved by the riders.

Elizabeth Inman, Event Director: This was the tenth sponsored ride at Burghley which is as popular as ever. It gives riders a unique chance to ride along the cross country course and in doing so has raised fantastic sums of money, which has amassed to over 120,000 supporting many local charities.
