All Set For A Super Sunday At Land Rover Burghley Today

Visitors to Land Rover Burghley today will witness the crowning of the 2017 champion when the Show Jumping takes centre stage. For those without tickets to the grandstand there are a number of giant screens around the Park to ensure that no-one misses out on the action.

And if you didn’t get to the Land Rover Experience yesterday, then make sure you take a stroll to the south side of the lake today to be driven in one of the latest Land Rover vehicles over carefully designed obstacles to witness what it’s like to climb steep slopes, wade through deep water and so much more… and youngsters aged 5 to 10 years old are invited to their very own ‘Future Drivers Experience’ this year to test-drive mini Land Rover Defenders!

Our younger visitors will also no doubt love to meet World Horse Welfare pony Pamela of #BurghleyPony video fame. Pamela will be stationed at the Celebrity Talk Area throughout the day and for those accompanied by a four legged friend a visit to the Tailwagger Club near the Country Living Makers’ Marquee is a must for the Fun Dog Show.

Free facepainting is also available for our younger visitors near the Country Living Makers’ Marquee, while the tiny tots of the family are welcome to have a small area on one arm or hand painted. We look forward to seeing lots of princesses, butterflies and spidermen walking around the showground!

For those looking for something a little different then a visit to the Main Arena at 12.00 must be on the agenda to watch the Donkey Breed Society’s Driven Donkey Display. Also in the Main Arena today is the Racehorse to Riding Horse Horse of the Year Show Qualifier, the band of the Yorkshire Regiment and the ever popular Parade of Hounds.

Ring 2 will be a hive of activity on Sunday as it plays host to the British Show Pony Society Gold Cup competition with four classes for plaited ponies. Competitors will ride a Dressage Test before moving on to Performance WSP over Cross Country style fences. Each class will culminate in a Show Jumping finale which includes a joker fence for extra bonus points.

Finally, no visit to Land Rover Burghley is complete without a comprehensive shopping expedition and with over 600 carefully hand-picked exhibitors to choose from, there really is something for everyone.

And of course, don’t forget to purchase your Official Programme Bundle containing the Official Programme, Burghley Bag, Burghley Pin Badge designed by Joules and Radnor Hills Water. Hidden in one lucky programme is a Golden Ticket which entitles the bearer to a fantastic magnum of Pol Roger champagne!
