Pol Roger supports Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials and the Festival of British Eventing

Champagne Pol Roger has agreed a partnership with The Festival of British Eventing for 2016 and beyond, which strengthens their sponsorship portfolio in the equestrian world.  In addition they continue to support the prestigious Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, as well as Pol Roger Ambassadors and Equestrian Team GBR members Harry Meade and Laura Collett.  The long-established and illustrious brand of Pol Roger is the perfect fit for two of the most important equestrian events in the UK and the 2016 eventing calendar.

The partnership was announced at a drinks reception held at The Officers’ Mess, Hyde Park Barracks, London, home to the Household Cavalry a very fitting venue to announce the association.

The Festival of British Eventing takes place on the 5-7 August 2016 at Gatcombe Park, the home of HRH The Princess Royal, a truly magnificent setting for one of the most prestigious Horse Trials in the UK.  The Festival of British Eventing, now in its 34th year, is extremely proud to be associated with Champagne Pol Roger.  The Festival provides the perfect backdrop for Pol Roger with four championship classes taking place over the weekend.

Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is recognised as one of eventing’s toughest challenges and is one of only six elite CCI4* competitions in the world.  The competition is held from 1-4 September 2016 at Burghley Park, Stamford in Lincolnshire within the stunning parkland of Burghley House.  With a truly international field of top class competitors drawn from across the globe, it is the ideal location and contest for Pol Roger to be associated with.

Champagne Pol Roger has been producing exceptional champagne for over 165 years and has long been a favourite among British connoisseurs. To this day the house remains small, family-owned, fiercely independent and unrivalled in its reputation for quality. Indeed, it is this quality which brought about Sir Winston Churchill’s lifelong attachment to Pol Roger, who famously declared Maison Pol Roger ‘The world’s most drinkable address!’

Peter Phillips, Co-Chairman of The Festival of British Eventing commented “To have Pol Roger on board for this year’s Festival of British Eventing is a real coup!  Pol Roger care passionately about the sport of eventing as we do at The Festival.  We look forward to an exciting event in this Olympic year and to be part of Pol Roger’s  strong portfolio of events both in the equestrian world and beyond is very valuable to us all.  We look forward to a long and happy association.”

Elizabeth Inman, Event Director, Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials said: “Pol Roger plays an important part in our event at Land Rover Burghley and we are delighted that they have extended this partnership to The Festival of British Eventing.  The association allows us all to develop a stronger profile for the sport and we look forward to building on the partnership in the years to come.”

Paul Graham, Business Development Director of Pol Roger Ltd said “This is an important day for Pol Roger and the significance of the launch party here at Hyde Park Barracks, the home of the Household Cavalry, allows us to cement our relationships in the equestrian world.  The sport of eventing evolved from a test of military chargers, a complete test of the Army horse and it is here that we celebrate our sponsorship in the world of eventing.  We could not be more delighted to be supporting these two prestigious events and, of course, the riders who play such an important part of this relationship.”
