A position has arisen at Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials for an experienced administrator to provide support within two important departments of the Event; Shopping* and Visitor Liaison. This role will involve liaising with a wide range of exhibitors, contractors and visitors to Land Rover Burghley to ensure that all requirements are known prior to, during and after the Event and fulfilled to Land Rover Burghley’s acknowledged standard of excellence.
Key responsibilities will include preparing accurate and timely documentation, answering telephone and email queries, updating the Shopping database, preparing details for invoice purposes, liaising with the Operations team and the Box Office to ensure that all requirements are known and acted upon, proof reading specific elements of the official Event Guide and the accurate despatch of instructions and tickets to all exhibitors and others as required. This role provides an important point of contact on Event for the large number of exhibitors at Land Rover Burghley together with visitors to the Event.
The successful candidate will be experienced at managing multiple requests simultaneously and accurately. They will have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and the ability to work accurately and calmly under pressure. Attention to detail and a high level of numeracy are the default position to fulfil this important role adequately, as is the ability to deal with difficult situations with diplomacy, discretion and absolute confidentiality. Experience of working effectively within a small team and knowledge of major equestrian and non sporting events would be beneficial, as would experience of mapping software.
