Best Dressed Riders

The traditional ‘Best Dressed’ rider awards were this year judged by two illustrious names from the fashion industry.

Stewart Parvin, a premier fashion and bridal designer, was granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen in 2007. In the 2016 New Year’s Honours list he was awarded the MVO, a personal gift from the monarch to recognise his years of personal service.

Stuart was joined by Rachel Trevor Morgan, one of the UK’s leading milliners. Rachel was granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen in 2014, the monarch having worn Rachel’s hats on many high profile occasions since 2006. Rachel also designs hats for other members of the Royal family.

Their choice of Best Dressed man was Ben Way.

“Ben looked as well dressed as his horse, and was wearing what I wish I had been wearing today,” said Stewart.

“There were lots of well dressed men,” added Rachel, “but he had something of the ‘dandy’ look about him.”

Ros Canter caught their eye for the Best Dressed lady.

“Ros looked very chic, with a beautiful fur collar to her waistcoat, and smart boots,” Rachel commented.

Stewart’s view was: “She didn’t appear to be trying too hard, but was very polished and appropriately dressed; to be running along with a horse beside her just looked right!”
