GEORGIE TROTS OUT IN STYLE
Fifty five horses will go forward to the final day’s show jumping at The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials.
Both Kilpatrick River (no 53) the ride of Elizabeth Power (IRL) in sixth place after cross country and Primitive Pistol (no 20) the ride of Jeanette Brakewell (GBR) in 26th place, were withdrawn before the final horse inspection. Instant Reaction (no 18) the ride of Ginnie Turnbull (GBR) was withdrawn from the holding box.
Wiltshire based Georgie Spence won the prize, for the best turned out rider at the horse inspection, judged by Eileen Green the editor of the Stamford Mercury. Georgie (22) who is currently in 29th place with her own Running Brook, was wearing a tartan skirt and elegant black frock coat available from Moloh an independent fashion retailer with shops in Tetbury and Pimlico. Georgie was presented with an Irish Duiske crystal vase presented by Martin Donohoe of Goresbridge sales who sponsored the award.
The show jumping for the lower placed riders has started and the top 24 will jump at 14.30hrs to decide the winner of this year’s Land Rover perpetual challenge trophy.
