The Burton Hunt Pony Club team win the showjumping competition

BURTON ARE THE BEST

Runners up last year the Burton Pony Club went one better to win this to win year’s Inter-branch Pony Club show jumping competition at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. Forty teams lined up for the popular competition supported by the Animal Health Trust and after the first round ten teams went through to a jump off. The all-girl team of the Burton, trained by Ian Bennett were neck and neck with the local Fitzwilliam Pony Club team and the outcome went right to the wire, until final rider 17-year-old Emily Prangnell and her skewbald mare Freya secured the win for the Burton with a clear round. The team were presented with the challenge trophy presented by the field.
