CROSS COUNTRY WILL START SHORTLY
Cross-country action at The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials starts in 20minutes at 11.04hrs. First out on the course will be Rosie Thomas (GBR) and Barrys Best (no. 2). In deference to the rain that has fallen over the last 24hrs Course Designer Mark Phillips has removed several fences from the course.
They are:
Fence 4 The Land Rover Leaf Pit
The C element will be removed
Fence 10 The Hunting Hedge
Will be removed altogether
Fence 17 The Land Rover Dairy Farm
The A element will be removed.
Fence 22 Capabilitys Classic
The back rail will be removed from the B element
The distance of 6555metres with an optimum time of 11min 30sec remains unchanged.
Horses that have withdrawn after dressage and before cross-country are:
No. 1 A Bit of a Barney (L Skelton GBR)
No. 8 Valentina (R Jones GBR)
No. 21 The Biz (H Woodhead GBR)
No. 55 Beggars Belief (G Bale GBR)
No. 57 Rongotai (N Turner- GBR)
No. 65 Partly Pickled (L Skelton- GBR)
