New President for Burghley

New President for Burghley

Miranda Rock (37), daughter of Lady Victoria and Mr. Simon Leatham will be moving into Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire in July to take over the many roles and duties associated with running the estate. The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials welcomes her as the new President upon the retirement of Lady Victoria.

Miranda will be ably supported by her husband, Orlando, as the new chatelaine of the finest Elizabethan house in the country, as he is Christie’s head of the Single-Owner Private Collection and Country House Sales Department.

Following in the footsteps of Lady Victoria could be daunting, but Miranda is keen to make her own mark as custodian of Burghley House and President of one of the largest and most important sporting and social events in the country. It is a challenge which Miranda relishes, and is very much looking forward to; “I am really excited that the Horse Trials are happening a month after we have moved to Burghley. When I lived here as a child, it was always the highlight of my summer and I am sure that my children will feel the same."

The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials organisers are also looking forward to working with Miranda; Elizabeth Inman, Event Director, said; “Our relationship with Lady Victoria has been wonderful and her contribution and support for the Event has been enormous. We very much look forward to working with Miranda in what we are certain will be an equally fruitful and successful partnership.”
