Burghley’s Potential Comes of Age
BURGHLEY’S POTENTIAL COMES OF AGE
Twenty nationwide qualifying events for the Burghley Young Event Horse competition have been confirmed (see www.burghley-horse.co.uk for details). The qualifiers take place from 18 May to 18 August 2007, ready for the final at The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (30 August – 2 September 2007) on Friday 31 August 2007.
Now in its 21st year, the Burghley Young Event Horse competition is a firmly established fixture, widely recognised as an excellent forum for presenting exceptionally promising pre-competition horses. Unique in the way it tests the young horses, the judges measure the horses’ prospects in terms of outlook, movement and conformation as well as using dressage and jumping tests. As a formula for identifying promise the results speak for themselves, with previous competitors including Pippa Funnell’s Primmore’s Pride, William Fox-Pitt’s Tamarillo and Leslie Law’s Shear H20.
After a successful nine year sponsorship with WINERGY® the series is now in the marketplace for a new partner. The potential for exposure is vast, with the 20 qualifying events taking place nationwide - from Somerset to Scotland - and starring at such prestigious venues as Gatcombe and Bramham. With the finalists from these qualifiers then competing at a final held on the second day of Burghley, one of the top three day events in the world, it offers any commercial partner an excellent sponsorship proposition.
Elizabeth Inman, Director of The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials said: “The Burghley Young Event Horse competition continues to go from strength to strength. It is an important feature in the framework of what we do here at Burghley, and to focus on exceptionally talented young horses is an investment in the future of our sport. Following an excellent nine year relationship with WINERGY® we look forward to working with a new sponsor in what will be, I have no doubt, a mutually beneficial alliance.”
