GET AHEAD – GET A TICKET
With the eventing season now in full swing, enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the box office for this year’s Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (3-6 September) opened for business on 1 May. Not only will the early birds be able to secure a coveted grandstand seat for Sunday’s show jumping but they can also benefit from the advance booking prices. Groups and coach parties can save almost 50% on gate prices. Tickets for the caravan park are always in demand as are the limited spaces for Saturday’s cross-country ‘picnic parking’ in front of the magnificent Burghley House.
The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, staged against the stunning backdrop of Capability Brown’s parkland, is one of the most picturesque international sporting and social occasions. It is also the climax of the autumn eventing calendar and one of just six four-star competitions in the world that represent the ultimate challenge for horse and rider. The winning combination will be rewarded with a cheque for £50,000.
In addition to the excitement of watching the world’s best riders compete for The Land Rover Perpetual Challenge Trophy, the Event offers four days of entertainment and enjoyment for all the family. The attractions include; Pony Club team jumping, the national finals of the Burghley Dubarry Young Event Horse series, a stallion parade, dressage displays and not forgetting the unrivalled avenues of trade stands, shopping pavilions and specialist ‘food walk’. All making up the unique experience that is Burghley.
