Incoming Burghley Event Director, Liz Inman, has used the opportunity of the opening of the Box Office* for this year’s Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (1st-4th September), to announce the first major change to this year’s Event, a massive 40% increase on last year’s already sizeable prize fund.
This dramatic increase, for the last ever four star in Europe to run long-format, will take the first prize alone to £40,000 and second prize to £30,000, representing a £10,000 increase to both prizes, with further increases down to 12th place**.
Of the announcement, Liz Inman said: “Our new sponsorship agreement with Land Rover has been instrumental in allowing us to fulfill our commitment to increase the prize money.”

For those wishing to keep in touch with the build-up to the Event as well as all the latest news as the Event happens, you can receive the e-newsletter absolutely free by e-subscribing on the home page of the site.
The box office is now open and for the first time-ever, visitors can pre-book daily and season tickets to the Event both through the box office and online at www.burghley-horse.co.uk .
Attractive discounts are available for some tickets booked in advance and all accompanied children aged 12 and under enter the Event free of charge. So plan ahead, take advantage and book early to make sure you enjoy what promises to be the biggest and best Burghley ever.
