Burghley Horse Trials, Stamford, Lincs has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Inman to the role of Director, she now joins the small group of women who head up a major British sporting event.
Elizabeth was appointed Deputy Director in 2004, and is delighted to be starting this challenging new role following the recent announcement that the Event, with attendance of 140,000 over the 4 days, had secured a seven-figure, three-year sponsorship agreement with Land Rover.
Of her appointment, Elizabeth said "This is another exciting chapter for Burghley. I'm looking forward to carrying on the work of my predecessors to ensure that Burghley maintains its position as the premier world-class sporting event in the Autumn, and we continue to stage an Event that our visitors put in their diaries year after year whilst continuing to attract new visitors. I look forward to working with Land Rover, and - with the help of the experienced team that Burghley is lucky enough to have – delivering an Event in 2005 that is a credit to those involved and a joy to our visitors."
