Sponsored Ride at Burghley Horse Trials - Sunday 7 September 2008

This will be the eighth year that Burghley Horse Trials has hosted a sponsored ride on the Sunday of the Event, giving riders and their horses of all ages and abilities the opportunity to follow in the hoofprint of the stars in Burghley Park.  Donations to equine charities already total over £100,000, and we look forward to welcoming the usual crowd of between 300 – 500 this year to aid yet another worthwhile cause.

The Ride
An area of Burghley Park is specially allocated for riders to park and assemble, before leaving in accompanied groups on the ride through the park – 10-12km approx.  You will be on the cross country course just one day after some of the world’s most accomplished horsemen and women, and can walk or trot around the fences to experience them first hand from the back of your own horse.  You also have the opportunity to ride on tracks that are not normally open to the public, together with a further section of the cross country course.

• Minimum sponsorship donation : £27 per rider, to be sent in with the official application form
• Then get your sponsors signed up and friends to join you – this is a great event for groups, clubs, yards or individuals
