Jessica Phoenix

Jessica started riding Western style, but since taking up eventing she has made a considerable impact on the international circuit, finishing 12th at the Pan Am Games in 2007 and recording her best result – 7th at Kentucky – earlier this year.

Jessica is married to Joel and they have an 18 month old son, Jacob. She describes her Burghley ride, Exponential, with whom she was part of the Canadian team at last year’s WEG, as ‘an incredible athlete and probably the best jumper I will ever sit on’. She bought the gelding off the track as an eight-year-old and has produced him up the grades herself, with help from her trainers the O’Connors, Ian Roberts, Sally Sainsbury and Karin Davis.
