Zara Phillips
Country: Great Britain
Age: 30
Since the retirement of her ‘horse of a lifetime’ Toytown, with whom she won team and individual gold medals at the 2005 Blenheim Europeans and the “006 Aachen WEG, Zara has been concentrating on building up a string of talented horses, and Headley Kingdom is at the top of the pack. She has produced the Master Imp-sired gelding from a novice with the help of trainers Tracie Robinson, Carl Hester and Kenneth Clawson. High Kingdom was bred by William Micklem in County Wicklow, Ireland.
Zara’s best Burghley result was also her inaugural one - in 2002 with Toytown, when she led going into the final showjumping phase, but knocked one pole and opened the door for Pippa Funnell to take the Rolex Grand Slam.
Zara, who recently married rugby player Mike Tindall, is based at Gatcombe Park.
