British-based New Zealander Dan Jocelyn first sprung to prominence with the whippet-like Thoroughbred Silence, who came fifth at Burghley as an eight-year-old.

Dan was born in Sydney and his first mount was a 17hh ex-trotter called Wally, who was a gift from his next-door neighbour.

Dan has been building up his string of horses from his base near Newbury, where he lives with his partner, Tanya Cleverley and their seven-year-old daughter Jaz. Dan has had a productive summer, which has included an eighth placing in an advanced section at Gatcombe and 14th at Chatsworth CIC*** on his Burghley entrant Special Advocate.
