Vicky Brake
Country: Great Britain
Age: 47
A Burghley regular, Vicky is trained by none other than Burghley course-designer Captain Mark Phillips. She competes her string of eventers from her own yard near Salisbury in Wiltshire and has produced a number of horses that have gone on to earn stripes for their country, including Mary King’s rides Imperial Cavalier and (the late) Call Again Cavalier. Vicky acquired Looks Like Fun (stable name Sam) when owner Ainslie Goulstone bought him nine years ago from a yard in Essex. A real cross-country machine, Sam would prefer to leave out dressage. He is out of the same mare as the 2000 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, Looks Like Trouble.
In Vicky’s spare time she likes to go racing.
